Holistic: All-encompassing view based on the knowledge of the nature, functions, and properties of the components, their interactions and their relationship as a whole.
Transitioning to a Holistic Lifestyle has been one of the best decisions I’ve made thus far. When you live Holistic, it allows you to find peace and true happiness in all areas in your life including your health, relationships and spirituality. In return this Holistic Lifestyle affects you in the most life changing way, and you will never want to go back to feeling like you are just existing.
There are so many ways to make a switch to a Holistic Lifestyle, but what I’ve focused on the most are these 4 powerful tools:
Live in the now and be Aware: This step has been one of the most important for me, and will be a life-long exploration. Waking up and being actually conscious can start in a different way for everyone and from different reasons. You have to understand that the present is the only tense that essentially counts. You have to eventually learn to accept your past, and appreciate that the past has made you who you are TODAY. If you only focus on the future, it can easily lead to anxiety and worry if you aren’t where you want to be in life yet. If you give all of yourself wholeheartedly to each experience, you choose to have in life you will see that you have the power to control our present, and make it what we want it to be.
Meditate: It’s common to feel stressed and overwhelmed with life at times and it eventually starts to take a toll on your life emotionally and health wise. When you start to feel this way, one of the best things you can do is meditate! There are many ways to meditate, but no matter how you choose to do it, the main goal is to overcome your stress and find inner peace and balance. The one thing I’ve learned through meditation is how much it helps you understand your own mind and your thought process.
Eat Clean: Clean eating is definitely nothing new! We’ve all heard that if you eat healthy, in return you will feel better and have more energy. As true as this is, if you don’t have a healthy mind, eating a salad daily won’t just give you energy and make your world automatically better. If you focus on living a more positive life in general, you will eventually want to start eating healthy too. I’m not going to tell you all I eat is salads and I never indulge in pizza. However, I can tell you that when I started choosing salad over chicken strips and decided to buy fresh fruits instead of bags of chips, life got a whole lot lighter. Lighter in the sense of I slimmed down, but also It just seems like a weight was lifted off of my shoulder.
Focus on Positive Relationships: The best advice I can give anyone is to distance yourself from those who don’t bring positivity to your life. Like I’ve mentioned before, not everyone is on the same path as you or the path that you are trying to be on and if they aren’t trying to do better or be a better person you cannot let them hold you back! I recently finished the book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth“, and one of my favorite quotes I took away from it is, “Energy is contagious, and darkness dissipates in the light”. What I received from that quote is to be a positive person and live your best life and normally people will feed off your energy. If people aren’t adding value to your life, cut them off and you will see how much happier you become instantly!
